Timberline Flood Protection
In an effort to improve the base level of protection to properties in Timberline, the City is preparing a project plan that incorporates earthen levee restoration, storm sewer improvements, potential back yard improvements, and other associated features.
In the 2009 flood fight this neighborhood was protected with the installation of Hescos. In 2010 sandbags and earth levees were used to protect this area. Many residents expressed a strong desire to minimize future efforts and damages. To accommodate this request the City has hired Houston Engineering to develop a preliminary plan.
On June 29 & August 31, 2010 Houston Engineering and the City hosted public meetings to discuss the status of the plan and upcoming construction. Handouts and the presentations are available for viewing on the right side of this page. We are accepting comments from the public until September 7, 2010.
