How to Navigate the Online Catalog
Searching for an item
- Click Search
Our Catalog
- Begin searching by typing in a keyword, title, or author and click search
- To see the details of an item, click on the number of the item
- To see if the item is available for check-out and where it is located, click on
the library name, or click on the title and then "All Items".
Renewing an item
- Click on 'Your Library Account'.
- Enter your User ID and password (your User ID is the 14-digit barcode number on
the back of your library card and your password is your last name).
- At the top of the screen, click on 'My Account.'
- Click on the number next to 'Loans/Renewals.'
- Click on the number of the item you would like to renew.
- Click 'Renew.'
- To renew more than one item, click the box next to the items and click 'Renew Selected.'
- In order to renew all items at once, click 'Renew All' on the 'Loans/Renewals' page.
Placing an item on hold
Note: Only items owned by the Fargo Public Library can be placed on hold.
- Click on 'Your Library Account' to sign in.
- Enter your User ID and password (your User ID is the 14-digit barcode number on
the back of your library card and your password is your last name).
- Type in a keyword, title, or author and click 'Search'.
- Click on title of the item you would like.
- Beside 'Availbility' click 'All Items'.
- To place the item on hold or to have it shuttled to another location click 'Request'
beside the location where the item is available. If it is unavailable at all locations,
choose any library.
- On the hold page, change your pickup/delivery location from the drop-down menu.
- Do not change the default dates.
- Click 'Go'.
- Click 'Go' again on the confirmation page.
- A letter or email will then be sent to you when the item is available for pickup.
Placing an interlibrary loan (ILL) request
NOTE: Only items owned by libraries outside the Fargo Public Library system
can be requested through Interlibrary Loan. There is a limit of 4 requests.
- Click on 'Your Library Account' to sign in.
- Enter your User ID and password (your User ID is the 14-digit barcode number on
the back of your library card and your password is your last name).
- Click on 'Expand your Search to all ODIN Libraries'.
- Type in a keyword, title, author, or subject and click 'Search'
- Click on the title of the item you would like to request from a library outside
the Fargo Public Library system.
- Click on 'ILL Request'.
- Change 'Pickup/Delivery Location' from the drop-down menu to the location of your
preference
- Enter a date at least 3 months from today's date.
- Click 'Go'
- A letter or email will then be sent to you when the item is available for pickup.
ILL requests generally take at least 3 weeks to process and receive.
