Curbside recycling

Photo of sorted recycling in binCurbside recycling is available to Fargo's 22,000 residential households (those that pay for residential garbage collection and do not have a commercial garbage dumpster).

Beginning September 14, 2009 curbside recycling will be available to all eligible households free of charge.  You will receive a blue container for setting out your recyclables, and each year we will mail you a calendar showing your scheduled pickup weeks and what can be recycled.

You can use small plastic garbage cans, paper bags, or purchased bins/totes from local retailers in addition to the blue bins, as long as the city blue bin is placed out as well.

How do I recycle if I live in an apartment?

If you live in an apartment or have a dumpster for garbage disposal, you will need to use our recycling drop-off sites; curbside recycling is not available for these customers.

We appreciate your efforts to conserve and recycle these materials that are a valuable resource for creating new products, and we look forward to the opportunity to serve you.
