Preparing items
The calendar includes a guide on how to prepare your items for recycling (very similar preparation as for our drop-off sites). If you've lost your calendar, you can download one on the curbside calendar page.
Items for recycling should be separated and placed in brown paper bags. Please do not use plastic grocery bags - they cannot be recycled on the truck, and they create problems when the driver tries to empty them (i.e. time to untie them, items sticking in the bag or catching on the handles); this slows down our collection process.
If you have more recyclables than the bin can accommodate, please put those items in brown paper bags and set out alongside the recycling bin, or use another box or container for excess material (please label), but be sure to set out the blue bin so the driver sees it. Locally, Fleet Farm and Menards sell recycling containers in the garbage can section of the store. Additional smaller bins (wastebasket size) are also acceptable.
