Downtown
Downtown Fargo was the original central business district and core of the community. As is the case with any dynamic place, its role has changed in the last century from the central shopping district to a mixed residential and commercial district.
It provides residents, workers, and visitors with an urban environment access to riverfront and park amenities, trails, entertainment and shopping opportunities.
Single-family detached homes are located along the fringes of the downtown neighborhood, with a variety of other housing options available in the interior of the area. Together, the Renaissance Zone and Neighborhood Revitalization Initiatives are serving as catalysts for a boom of commercial and residential development in the downtown area.
